George Stephen Trophy
The AAFA will take on the Midlands AFA from Dundee on Wednesday 17th September for the George Stephen Shield. The AAFA will be represented by reigning Premier Division Champions Echt. The match is at Keith Park, Aberdeen and kicks off at 7.45.
Results for Saturday 30th August
In the Aberdeen FC Trophy Trophies International moved into the next round with a 3-1 win over Newtonhill, the goals coming from O’Driscoll (2) and Smith. Cove went nap against Blackburn in a hard fought Association Trophy encounter, winning 5-2. Goal scorers for Cove were Wilson (2), Craig, Thom, and Mckenzie.
Glendale 3 – 0 Rattrays XI
Newly appointed manager Les Morrison took his Rattrays team to Corbie Park, Maryculter, to take on Glendale in this Dickie Trophy first round tie on Saturday. It was the home side who looked the fitter and more enthusiastic team throughout and ran out worthy winners.
Results for Saturday 23rd August
In the opening round of the Association Trophy a solitary goal from Euan Wilson was enough for Old Aberdonians to defeat Woodside. Tarves dumped Glendale Youth out of the Dickie Trophy with a 4-0 win which included a Thomson hat-trick. In the Premier League Cove bounced back from their mid-week defeat to beat Westdyke 1-0, Thom getting the goal.
Fixtures for Saturday 30th August
Plenty of cup and league action this weekend. Our featured match is at Corbie Park, Maryculter, where Glendale entertain Rattrays XI in the first round of the Dickie Trophy.
Bon-Accord City 8 – 0 Feughside
A second half goal blitz put Bon-Accord through to the next round of the AFC Trophy. Feughside held their own in the first half creating chances but failing to put the ball into the net.
Results for Wednesday 20th August
More than half of the scheduled games fell foul of the unseasonable weather. In those that were played Echt, Bon-Accord City and Great Western Utd all added three points to their Premier league tallies.
Results for Monday 18th August
A full programme of Division Two and Three fixtures saw no shortage of goals. Hilton and Newburgh racked up eight, Bucksburn Utd nine while Highland Hotel managed no fewer than thirteen against the unfortunate Portlethen United.
MS United 4 – 2 Turriff Thistle
This season’s League Cup competitions got underway with MS drawn against Turriff Thistle in the Dickie Trophy. On an immaculate playing surface and with the sun shining it was the home side who booked their place in the next round with a 4-2 win.
Results for Saturday 16th August
A day of cup action was headlined by Echt’s surprise first round exit from the Soccer World Premier Trophy. Banchory upset the holders with an exciting 4-3 extra-time victory, their goals coming from McRitchie, Legg, Fraser and Birse.
