Fixtures for 17th January

The two AAFA sides remaining in the Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup are both in action. AC Mill Inn host Addiewell Hearts while Echt travel to face Dumbarton Academy FPs. Halliburton take on Theologians in the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Amateur Cup and Rattray’s XI and Kemnay Youth meet in the quarter-finals of the Castle Rovers Cup.

Results for 10th January

Trophies International moved into the last eight of the Dickie Trophy, beating Huntly Amateurs on penalties after a 3-3 draw. Sportsmans Club defeated RGU in a tight encounter to move to the top of Division One (North). There was disappointment for Kintore, Newtonhill and MS United who were all knocked out of the Scottish Amateur Cup.

Fixtures for 10th January

Four AAFA clubs, Kintore, Echt, Newtonhill and MS United, have away ties in the Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup. University host Cowie Thistle and Burghmuir visit Nicolls in the quarter-finals of the Soccer World Premier Trophy. Grammar Rovers and Dyce travel to Stonehaven to face AC Mill Inn and Stonehaven Athletic respectively in the Stephen Shield.

Honours even in Stonehaven Friendly

Both AC Mill Inn and Newtonhill have upcoming Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup fifth round ties and both teams will be pleased with this tightly contested friendly. Mill Inn’s goals came from a Muir penalty and a brace from Allan while Brooks, Phillips and Lutton found the net for the visitors.

No games on 3rd January

As agreed at the last General Committee Meeting there will be no fixtures on Saturday 3rd January. Most clubs will return to action on Saturday 10th January. In the meantime everyone involved with the Association would like to wish team players and officials all the best for 2009.

Kintore 4 – 3 Newmachar Utd

This local derby was played at a hectic pace on a heavy pitch with both teams determined to progress to the next round of the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Cup. Kintore’s Richard Strachan was the hero with a winner seven minutes from the end of a seven goal, extra-time, thriller.

Scottish Amateur Cup Update

The Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup action resumes on 10th January. Results for 27th December

Glendale Youth and Kintore progressed in the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Cup while Hilton and Stoneywood Amateurs enjoyed wins in the Dickie Trophy. Cove Thistle moved three points clear at the top of the Premier Division with a 4-3 win at Echt while in Division Two (North) Mugiemoss Youth were stunned 8-1 by Huntly and Bucksburn United took full advantage with a 4-0 win at Mintlaw.

General Committee Meeting – 8th January

The next General Committee Meeting will take place on Thursday 8th January 2009. The meeting will be held in the International Lounge within the Richard Donald Stand at Pittodrie Stadium and commences at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.

Fixtures for 27th December

In the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Cup Glendale Youth host Newtonhill and Newmachar Utd travel to Kintore. It’s second against third in Division Two (East) when Insch entertain Halliburton. With Hilton on cup duty Highland Hotel will be looking to extend their lead in Division Three with a win at St Laurence.
