Premier Division leaders Kincorth went into this Aberdeen FC Trophy fourth round tie against Hilton without a number of key players but goals from Beaton (2), Slaven, Smith, Livingstone and Simpson saw them safely through to the quarter-finals where they will travel to Stonehaven to face Cowie Thistle.

Newtonhill won 3-2 against Methil Rovers to reach the fifth round of the Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup. FC Geldie moved to the top of Division One (East) by scoring six against Ferryhill and Halliburton’s win over Luthermuir allowed them to close the gap at the top of Division Two (East) with leaders Ellon Thistle being held by University Strollers and second placed Insch losing at home to Bankhead.

Scottish Amateur Cup 5th Round Draw

The draw for the fifth round of the Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup was made in Motherwell on 17th December, with seven AAFA sides still left on the competition.

Stoneywood SSC 2 – 0 Cowie Thistle

Cowie Thistle must be wondering why they went home without any points from this Premier Division encounter against Stoneywood SSC. They had Stoneywood under pressure for most of the game but Stoneywood’s keeper McLennan made save after save to keep his goal intact and late strikes from Bathgate and Still secured victory for the home side.

Fixtures for 20th December

Great Western United host Knockentiber in the fourth round of the Scottish Amateur Cup while Newtonhill take on Methil Rovers. FC Geldie can take over top spot in Division One (East) with a win against Ferryhill and Rattray’s XI have the chance to move into second place in Division Two (North) when they visit Continental.

Results for 13th December

Torrential rain meant that only eight games went ahead on Saturday. Echt and MS United booked their places in the fifth round of the Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup and Kintore drew 2-2 in their fourth round tie against Clark Drive of the Ayrshire Premier Division. In league action, Ellon Thistle hit five goals against FC Polska at The Meadows to move to the top of Division Two (East).

Cove Thistle 4 – 4 Sportsmans Club

Division One (North) Sportsmans Club gave Premier Division Cove Thistle a hard game in the third round of the Aberdeen FC Trophy at Catto Park. In a game which could have gone either way it was the visitors who came out on top on with an 8-7 win on penalties.

Fixtures for 13th December

Match secretaries around the country will be hoping for an improvement in the weather this weekend. In league action, RGU should give Division One (North) pace-setters AC Mill Inn a tough game and Stoneywood Amateurs will be looking to maintain their unbeaten record in Division Two (East) when they visit Glendale.

Results for 6th December

In the two Scottish Amateur Cup ties which went ahead, AC Mill Inn progressed to the fifth round for the third year in a row but Hilton’s run in the competition came to an end against Dumbarton Accies. Locally, a further seven games survived the cold conditions including Mearns United’s comfortable 7-0 win at Bankhead in the Dickie Trophy and a first Premier Division win of the season for Nicolls Amateurs.

Draws made on 4th December

Draws for all of the local cup competitions were made at the Executive Committee Meeting on Thursday 4th December. These were for the Aberdeen FC Trophy quarter-finals, the third round of the Association Trophy and Dickie Trophy and all six divisional cup semi-finals.
