Fixtures for 6th December

If the weather relents then nine teams will be flying the AAFA flag across the country in the fourth round of the Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup. Hilton face the longest trip to Dumbarton, while Echt go to Glasgow to take on Pollok Amateurs and Old Aberdonians travel to Dundee to face Tayside Fire Brigade.

Highland Hotel 2 – 0 BSFC

Highland Hotel booked their place in the semi-finals of the Chattan Rovers Cup by defeating BSFC on a rock hard surface at Beach Park, Balmedie on Saturday. First half goals from Cameron and Robertson proved enough to see off the visitors.

The weather had a major impact on the fixture programme for the second weekend in a row, with all but one of the AAFA matches postponed due to frozen pitches. The only game to survive was the Chattan Rovers Cup quarter-final between Highland Hotel and BSFC at Balmedie.

The Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Cup takes centre stage again, with eight second round ties scheduled. Stonehaven Athletic entertain Dyce in the last eight of the Stephen Shield and there are also three Chattan Rovers Cup quarter-finals; St Laurence take on Ellon Amateurs, Highland Hotel host BSFC and Trophies International travel to Auchnagatt.

22nd November Matches Wiped Out

The entire fixture list was wiped out by the early arrival of winter. Snow across the North-East meant that not a ball was kicked. Fixtures for next Saturday will be confirmed shortly – let’s hope for some better conditions.

Fixtures for 22nd November

Eight outstanding second round ties will be played in the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Cup this weekend. In the Soccer World Premier Division, Beacon Rangers will be looking for their first win when they visit West End and Halliburton against Stoneywood Amateurs could be a close contest in Division Two (East).

Dyce 2 – 2 Beacon Rangers

Dyce knocked Premier Division side Beacon Rangers out of the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Amateur Cup on penalties at Pitmedden Road on Saturday 15th November. The game finished all square at the end of 120 minutes and Holmes was then the hero for Dyce in the shoot-out, saving two spot kicks to secure his side’s place in the third round.

MS United and Newtonhill both won away from home to make it into the fourth round of the Fosters Centenary Scottish Amateur Cup. Glendale XI went to the top of the Division One (East) table with a 5-1 win at Blackburn and Hilton now lead Division Three after their comfortable 5-0 win over Newburgh.

Nicolls Amateurs 3 – 3 University

A last-gasp Callum Lamont strike denied Nicolls their first league win of the season in this Premier Division clash at Denmore. Lamont netted a minute into stoppage time, just two minutes after Dave Askew appeared to have sealed the points for the home side in an entertaining encounter.
