Banchory Ams captain Scott Girvan picked up the club’s first trophy of the season when they beat Kincorth 2-1 in the Ian Napier Memorial Shield at Lads Club on Sunday 12th October.

Kincorth should have gone ahead in eleven minutes after Gove’s perfect cross was met by Davie six yards out but his hurried shot went past the post. From a long throw in from Fraser Banchory’s McRitchie outjumped the defence and headed his team into the lead in twenty five minutes.

There was no further scoring until the second half when Banchory’s Birse shot hit the post and rebounded out to Stewart who scored from close range 2-0. Gove pulled a goal back for Kincorth from the penalty spot to make the score 2-1. The last ten minutes belonged to Kincorth but they could not get that vital goal and the game finished 2-1 to Banchory.

At the presentation Colin Napier, brother of Ian, thanked the Lads Club for the use of their pitch.
