Soccer World Premier Division at Echt on Saturday 2nd August

Three goals in twenty one minutes for Premier League Champions Echt gave them the points over newly promoted Kincorth although after a second half fightback Kincorth must have gone home thinking they deserved at least a point from this game.

With a minute on the clock Echt’s Murray put Douglas through on goal but his shot was cleared off the line. In seven minutes from a long throw in the ball was laid back to Echt’s Murray whose left foot drive flew past Kincorth keeper to put his team in front. Seven minutes later new signing Murray again beat keeper Valentine with a low drive from twenty yards making the score 2-0.

Kincorth were having major problems settling and their defence was again under pressure in twenty one minutes when a free kick to Echt ten yards inside Kincorth’s half was floated into the six yard box where Presslie outjumped the defence and headed the third goal.

Kincorth slowed the pace of the game down and began to find a way through the Echt defence forcing keeper Garden into making saves. On the half hour a corner to Kincorth was sent to the far post where Kincorth’s Warman had the easiest of headers to beat keeper Garden. Echt had another chance when from a set piece the ball fell to Presslie who put his shot past the post. Just before half time a high ball to Kincorth’s Simpson was chested down to Davie whose shot went over the bar.

Half time 3-1

From the re-start Kincorth pushed forward and in forty seven minutes a long distance shot from Davie found the back of the net 3-2. At the other end a cross from Hall was met by Graham whose header hit the top of the crossbar and went out of play.

Kincorth were now on top and a solo forty yard run by Gove saw his shot slip past the upright. Echt keeper Garden then had to dive to his right to push a shot from Livingstone round the post. Kincorth should have drawn level when a cross from the right was headed towards goal hitting the inside of the post and everyone except referee Ross thought it had crossed the line. Kincorth kept pushing forward but could not beat an on-form keeper Garden.

With six minutes left Echt’s Presslie missed the best chance of the game when with only the keeper to beat from six yards his shot was pushed away by keeper Valentine’s foot making full time score 3-2.
