Aberdeen FC Trophy Third Round at Kincorth on Saturday 29th January

Both teams fielded weakened teams in this third round tie of the AFC Trophy played on a very wet and heavy pitch.

With three minutes on the clock Kincorth’s Jamie Buchan put his team ahead when he met a cross from the left and headed past keeper Hill.

Kincorth’s lead lasted for thirteen minutes until Kincorth’s Stewart tripped Blackburn’s Cameron in the box and Michael Dunn placed the ball well out of keeper Valentine’s reach from the penalty spot.

Two minutes later Blackburn failed to clear the ball out of the eighteen yard box letting Kincorth’s Kris Harris fire the ball past keeper Hill.

The goal of the game came five minutes later when Blackburn’s Marc Duncan hit a shot from forty yards and it flew past keeper Valentine into the net.

The game was flowing from end to end and Blackburn had the ball in the net but it was disallowed and the score remained 2-2 at half time.

Half-time: 2-2

Blackburn went on the attack from the start of the second half and had a chance when Cameron’s shot slipped past the upright.

On the hour mark Kincorth’s Livingstone made a run down the right beating two men before his inch perfect cross was met at the far post by Murray Robertson who headed into the top corner of the net.

In seventy seven minutes Kincorth had a goal disallowed for offside. Blackburn continued to push forward and had Kincorth under pressure but could not break down the strong Kincorth defence.

In the dying minutes Blackburn had two good chances but keeper Valentine made two good saves to put Kincorth into the next round of the Cup.
