Great Northern Athletic striker Lewis McIntosh believes his recent goalscoring form can fire his side to Amateur football glory this season.

The strike ace scored the first goal in Athletic’s 2-1 win over Stoneywood Amateurs. Lewis has scored over 70 times in three seasons to help his team clinch consecutive promotions. And he is confident his goals won’t dry up ahead of a busy schedule for his side.

He said: “We only formed as a club two years ago so to achieve consecutive promotions was an unbelievable experience. I’m really enjoying playing with my friends and there is no reason why we can’t gain promotion to the Premier Division.

“We have a squad here capable of challenging anybody in Amateur football. I haven’t scored as many goals as I would have liked to this season but that will change.”
