My name is Jason Riding, I am 22 years old, and I am looking to secure regular, competitive club football on the mainland. I have an 18-year footballing background growing up in Shetland. I currently play football for Team Shetland at the Scottish Learning Disability National Games, where we recently won a bronze medal in a massive, high-intensity tournament against many teams.
Because our Shetland squad only trains once a week and we don’t get enough regular matches, I am eager to play all the time and push my development further. While I will maintain my training up in Shetland during the week, I have family based locally in Longtown and Wigton, and I am fully committed to traveling up/down regularly for weekend matches.
My ultimate goal is to secure my spot in the Shetland squad for the 2027 Island Games in the Faroe Islands, and I want to play at the highest possible standard to get there.
Player Profile:
– Positions: Versatile outfield player (comfortable anywhere across defence, midfield, or attack; sole exception is goalkeeper).
– Experience: National Games Bronze Medalist, regular high-intensity tournament football, used to heavy fixture loads and pressure.
– Commitment: Dedicated to traveling down for matchdays and keeping fit.
I would love to know if you would be open to a player with this travel arrangement, and if you have any space in the squad for this season.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Jason Riding
