Division Three at Inverdee on Monday 3rd August

Cammachmore came from two goals down at half-time to record a 4-3 win against new boys West End Electrical in this Division Three encounter at Inverdee.

The first half of the game belonged to West End Electrical. They went ahead in seven minutes with a goal from a free kick 30 yards out scored by James Petrie and had another great chance when Wallace broke through the defence but Cammachmore’s keeper Cummings saved with an outstretched foot.

However, the hosts kept up the pressure and went two up after a mix-up in Cammachmore’s defence ended with Craig Stevenson putting through his own goal.  West End Electrical kept pushing forward but poor finishing kept the half time score 2-0.

Half-time: 2-0

Cammachmore were a different team after the break with their midfield winning most of the tackles on the ground and outjumping their opponents in the air. Only good goalkeeping by West End Electrical’s keeper foiled the Cammachmore strikers on several occasions.

Cammachmore’s pressure eventually paid off when from a corner on the right the West End Electrical keeper punched the ball out as far as  Andrew Smith who volleyed the ball into the net.

The goal of the game came at the other end when West End Electrical’s Scott McLaren’s left foot drive found the top corner of the net from forty yards to restore his side’s two goal advantage.

In seventy-nine minutes Richard Hay pulled a goal back for Cammachmore when he forced his way through the home defence and scored with a drive from six yards. A minute later Cammachmore won a corner and the ball was sent in to the far post where Craig Stevenson got a foot to it and scrambled it over the line to bring his side level.

With a minute to go Cammachmore’s Richard Hay got his head to the ball which rebounded off the post and he headed home the winning goal for his team.

Full Time: 3-4
