Fixtures for 7th and 8th May
The final of the North of Scotland Cup takes place at Allan Park on Sunday with Kincorth taking on Nicolls Amateurs (2.00pm). On Saturday, Lads Club Amateurs travel to Fettercairn to face Mearns United in the Association Trophy with Cove Thistle awaiting the winners in the last four.
Results for 2nd May
Rothie Rovers will meet Postal ALC in the final of the Dickie Trophy after defeating JS XI on penalties on Monday evening and University set up a semi-final meeting with Kincorth in the Aberdeen FC Trophy after they beat Nicolls Amateurs. In Division Two (North) Don Athletic won 4-1 at Continental to move to within a point of leaders Portlethen United.
AC Mill Inn 1 – 0 Bon Accord City
A 1-0 victory for AC Mill Inn at Mineralwell Park on Saturday leaves Bon-Accord City in the relegation zone in the 1st Touch Football Premier Division. The only goal of the game came in the 64th minute from Mill Inn’s Daniel Crighton.
Monymusk Annual General Meeting
Monymusk AFC is appealing for support ahead of its annual general meeting to be held in the Grant Arms Hotel in the village next Monday evening, May 9, at 7.30pm. With all office-bearer posts vacant the turnout at the meeting is crucial to ensure the future of the club.
Results for 30th April
Cove Thistle and Kincorth made it through to the last four of the AFC Trophy and Mearns United reached the quarter-finals of the Association Trophy after defeating Echt. Rothie Rovers strengthened their position at the top of Division Two (East) by scoring four goals without reply at University Colts while Burghmuir and Feughside boosted their promotion hopes with convincing away wins.
Nicolls Win the Stephen Shield
Nicolls Amateurs got their name on the Stephen Shield for the second time by winning the Shield which was presented in 1978 to the Association by the late George Stephen (Bunter), Past President of the Aberdeenshire AFA and founder member of Nicolls Ams. Michael Ord, Scott Birnie and Craig Fleming were the goalscorers.
Results for 27th April
Nicolls Amateurs lifted the Stephen Shield on Wednesday evening following a 3-0 win against Lads Club Amateurs at Hillhead. In Division Three, St Laurence’s defeat at Torphins means that JS XI hold an unassailable lead at the top of the table and are league champions in their first ever season in the Association.
Fixtures for 4th May
On Wednesday 4th May Echt play Kincorth in the Premier Trophy final at Hillhead, kick-off 7.15pm.
Results for 25th April
Premier Division leaders Kincorth were held at home by Old Aberdonians and University moved to within six points of the lead with a 2-0 victory at Lochside Park against Woodside. In Division Two (East) Johnshaven Athletic’s defeat against University Colts allowed Westhill to move into second place and there were also home wins for Kemnay Youth and Mintlaw.
