Fixtures for 19th March

Hazlehead United host Mearns United in the third round of the North of Scotland Cup and there are also seven fourth round ties on the fixture card. Postal ALC and Theologians meet in the semi-final of the Castle Rovers Cup with Don Athletic awaiting the winners in the final and Feughside have the chance to close the gap on Division Two (East) leaders Johnshaven Athletic when they take on Mugiemoss Youth.

Great Western Utd 2 – 1 Lads Club Amateurs

Great Western United saw off the challenge of Lads Club Amateurs at a wintry Woodside to move eight points clear at the top of Division One (North). Duncan scored the winner ten minutes into the second period after the visitors’ Allison had equalised a Jones strike in the opening half hour.

Midweek Fixtures

The Match Secretary announced at the General Committee Meeting of all clubs on 10th March that midweek fixtures will commence on Monday 4th April.

Results for 12th March

Just twelve games survived the weather on Saturday. In the Soccer World North of Scotland Cup Kincorth comfortably defeated Kaimhill Utd. Glendale Youth got past Huntly Amateurs by the odd goal in five in the Aberdeen FC Trophy. Rothie Rovers made it into the quarters of the Dickie Trophy with a 3-1 win at Kemnay Youth and Cove Thistle are through to the final of the White Cup where they will face Stoneywood Amateurs.

Echt 8 – 0 Stonehaven Athletic

Echt cruised into the fourth round of the Soccer World North of Scotland Cup with a comfortable win. Stonehaven Athletic could not contain the free-scoring Paul Presslie who bagged five goals with Gregory, Cooper and J. Roger completing the scoring for the home side.

Fixtures for 12th March

The two outstanding ties in the North of Scotland Cup third round are due to be played this Saturday with Hazlehead United hosting Mearns United and Kaimhill United at Kincorth. Ellon Amateurs take on Cove Thistle in a White Cup semi-final with Stoneywood Amateurs awaiting the winners while in the AFC Trophy Glendale Youth play Huntly in the second round and there are two third round ties on the card.

Results for 5th and 9th March

Woodside defeated Newmachar United in their AFC Trophy tie under the floodlights at Lochside Park on Wednesday evening and will now host Rothie Rovers in round four. On Saturday, Kincorth reached the final of the Premier Trophy after victory against Sportsmans Club in a high scoring semi-final and St Laurence won on penalties against Portlethern United to book their place in the last four of the Dickie Trophy.

Fixtures for 5th March

The Soccer World North of Scotland Cup takes centre stage on Saturday with one second round and fourteen third round ties on the fixture list. In the Dickie Trophy quarter-final St Laurence host Portlethen United at Laurencekirk while Sportsmans Club and Kincorth in the Premier Trophy semi-final should be keenly contested with Echt waiting for the winners in the final.

General Committee Meeting – 10th March 2011

The next General Committee Meeting will take place on Thursday 10th March. The meeting will be held in the International Lounge in the Richard Donald Stand at Pittodrie Stadium and starts at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.
