Woodside win Ian Napier Memorial Shield
Woodside lifted the Ian Napier Memorial Shield after a closely contested final against Beacon Rangers at Hillhead on Sunday. The game seemed to be heading to extra time before two goals in the final three minutes sealed the win for Woodside.
Fixtures for 27th November
A host of North of Scotland Cup second round ties are scheduled for Saturday including AC Mill Inn v Kincorth and Cowie Thistle v Woodside. Still at the first round stage Newburgh host Don Athletic. In the Scottish Amateur Cup Kintore will be hoping for better weather as they attempt to play Ardeer Rovers at home.
Results for 20th and 21st November
Woodside won the Ian Napier Memorial Shield on Sunday with a 4-2 victory against Beacon Rangers at Hillhead. On Saturday, Halliburton enjoyed a 3-1 win in their Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup third round replay at Bishopton Athletic while Bervie Caley and Westdyke both earned replays following draws away from home. Kincorth reached the semi-finals of the Premier Trophy and there were wins for Bon-Accord City, Banchory and RGU in the only three league games to beat the rain.
Scottish Amateur Cup – Fourth Round Draw
The draw for the fourth round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup was made in Uddingston on Monday 15th November, with ties to be played on or before Saturday 4th December. Nine AAFA sides were in the draw, with Banchory, Mearns United and Westhill already through to the fourth round and six other AAFA sides involved in third round encounters this weekend.
Fixtures for 20th and 21st November
Beacon Rangers and Woodside, currently sitting 3rd and 4th in the Premier Division, meet at Hillhead in the final of the Ian Napier Memorial Shield on Sunday. Six AAFA teams will be hoping for an improvement in the weather on Saturday in order to play their third round ties in the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup with Kintore the only side not travelling south.
Glentanar Reflex 4 – 3 Monymusk
Goals from Gary Taylor and Ryan Legge gave Glentanar Reflex a two goal half-time lead. Andrew Robertson replied for Monymusk before Connor Bond converted two penalties to give Reflex a 4-1 lead. Late goals from Andrew Robertson and Gavin Moir gave Monymusk some hope but Glentanar held on to claim the three points.
Results for 13th November
Mearns United made it through to the fourth round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup while the other third round ties involving local sides fell victim to the weather. Ellon Amateurs and Luthermuir completed the semi-final line-up in the White Cup, Westhill were victorious at McTeagle in the Barclay Cook Cup and Fintray Thistle and Cammachmore both won to set up a meeting in last four of the Chattan Rovers Cup.
Fixtures for 13th November
Seven AAFA sides are in action in the Third Round of the Scottish Cup. Bervie Caledonian travel to Dunfermline, Westdyke go to Port Glasgow and Newburgh make the trip to Troon. Kintore host Ardeer Rovers while Mearns United welcome Sporting CFB to Fettercairn. Grammar FPs and Halliburton are both away in replays.
Glenavon SC Reunion
A reunion has been proposed for the former players and committee of Glenavon SC who played from 1973 to 1986. Date and venue to be confirmed for middle to end of January 2011. Highland Hotel 4 – 2 Mintlaw
Highland Hotel came out on top in this Division Two (East) clash at Inverdee. Their goals came from Hugo Costa, Ryan Snow (2) and Darren Craig. Mintlaw’s scorers were Ewan Little and Shaun Park.
