Fixtures for 5th June
The final two rounds of fixtures take place on 2nd and 5th June. Bon-Accord City host Westdyke on Wednesday evening and the destination of the Premier Division title will then be decided on Saturday when Echt travel to face Bon-Accord at Balgownie.
Results for 26th and 28th May
Rattrays XI lifted the Dickie Trophy on Friday evening, winning 4-2 on penalties against Hilton at Hillhead after the match finished 1-1 after extra time. Bon Accord City and Echt both won on Wednesday evening as the Premier Division title race looks like going down to the final game while Tarves eased past Theologians to win promotion to next season’s top flight.
Results for 24th May
Cowie Thistle won 1-0 against Westdyke to ensure their Premier Division status for next season. The other two games were in Division Two (East) where Grammar FP’s were 3-1 winners over Bankhead and Ferryhill won 1-0 at Mugiemoss Youth.
Echt win Inaugural John Todd Memorial Trophy
The inaugural John Todd Memorial Trophy was won by Echt after extra time against Bon Accord City. A crowd of about two hundred turned out on a fine sunny day. Brenda Todd with her two sons Liam and Paul presented the Cup.
Hazlehead Utd 3 – 3 Beacon Rangers
Beacon Rangers put paid to Hazlehead Utd’s title hopes when they drew 3-3 at Hazlehead Academy in a hard fought match. Beacon went 3-1 up with two goals from David Boyle and one from Richard Robb. Hazlehead pegged them back with a Nicky Emslie brace and a goal from Jamie Colvin but despite plenty of pressure in the final 20 minutes they couldn’t find the goal which would have forced a title play-off.
Results for 22nd May
Beacon Rangers are the Division One (North) champions after their 3-3 draw at Hazlehead Utd. Tarves won and could still finish in second place if they win their final game. Portlethen Utd claimed the Division Three title, winning 4-2 in their last game at Grandholm to go above Feughside by one point. University moved into joint top spot in the Premier however Bon Accord City and Echt have two games in hand.
Bon Accord Win AFC Trophy After Extra Time Thriller
Bon Accord substitute William Small was the extra time goal hero as his team won the Aberdeen FC Trophy for the first time in their history. Bon Accord and Cowie Thistle were locked at 2-2 after the 90 minutes with Scott Craig scoring both Bon Accord goals and Neil Fowlier and Ross Adie scoring for Cowie.
Echt Lift Association Trophy After 1-0 Win
The Association Cup final was an all Premier League clash between 4th placed Dyce and 2nd placed Echt at Hillhead sponsored for the first time by Colin’s One Stop Motor Shop. The only goal of the game from Echt’s Calum Murray in 71 minutes.
Results for 19th May
Echt defeated Dyce 1-0 to lift the Association Trophy. In the Premier Division Kincorth against Westdyke finished scoreless. Blackburn and Glendale both picked up three points in Division One (East). Rattrays XI overcame University Strollers 2-1 in Division Two (North) while Bankhead v Mearns Utd was a 2-2 draw in Division Two (East).
Results for 17th May
Bon Accord City moved back into pole position in the Premier Division with a 2-0 win at Westdyke. University kept up their challenge, winning 3-0 against Kincorth. In Division One (North) Hazlehead Utd beat Luthermuir 4-2 and go into their final game against Beacon Rangers knowing that a win will secure a play-off.
