Insch 0 – 3 Westdyke

This North of Scotland Cup third round tie was switched to Inverdee to get the game played. Two goals from Ian McKenzie and one from Andrew Connon were enough to see Westdyke through to the next round despite a man-of-the-match effort from Insch ‘keeper Errol Watson.

Fixtures for 13th and 17th March

Newmachar United v Kincorth and Rothie Rovers v Luthermuir are the two outstanding ties in the North of Scotland Cup third round. Feughside will be looking to put some pressure on Division Three league leaders Portlethen United in a top-of-the-table clash. Woodside take on Glendale under the floodlights at Lochside Park in Division One (East) on Wednesday evening.

Results for 6th March

Kintore defeated Echt to book their place in Monday evening’s North of Scotland Amateur Cup fourth round draw and Ferryhill joined them in the last sixteen following an extra-time victory at Grammar FPs. University Colts won at Ellon Thistle to go through to the last four of the Stephen Shield and FC Polska progressed to the semi-finals of the Chattan Rovers Cup after edging past Scotstown Rovers.

Midweek Fixtures

The Match Secretary announced at the General Committee Meeting of all clubs on 4th March that midweek fixtures will commence on Monday 5th April.

Return of Trophies

Clubs who won trophies in season 2008/09 are reminded that these should be returned to the Association Secretary by 31st March.

Fixtures for 6th March

Eight North of Scotland third round games top the fixture list this Saturday. Ellon Thistle host University Colts at the quarter final stage of the Stephen Shield and Beacon Rangers visit Torry United in the second round of the Association Trophy. Tarves travel to face Stonehaven Athletic looking for three points which would take them to the top of Division One (North).

Results for 27th February

Just three games went ahead this Saturday. Postal ALC progressed to the third round of the Aberdeen FC Trophy after a 4-0 win over Halliburton. Ellon Amateurs overcame Monymusk 4-3 in a tight Dickie Trophy second round tie. In Division One (East) Glendale gave up home advantage but secured all three points with a 2-0 win over RGU.

Glendale 2 – 0 RGU

Glendale gave up ground rights to get this fixture played after so many weeks without games due to the adverse weather. Both teams are struggling in the lower half of Division One (East) and needed the three valuable points. Goals from Christopher Garden and Andrew Noble gave Glendale the win, leaving both teams on 15 points after 13 games.

Fixtures for 27th February

With this weekend’s fixture list being wiped out there are only a few changes to next week’s fixtures. University v Cove Thistle is the only Premier Division game. Don Athletic will play Mugiemoss Youth and McTeagle meet West End Electrical in league games. There are also some changes to the Division One (East) games with leaders Woodside playing FC Geldie.
