General Committee Meeting – 4th March

The next General Committee Meeting will take place on Thursday 4th March. The meeting will be held in the International Lounge in the Richard Donald Stand at Pittodrie Stadium and starts at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.

California 6 – 4 Bon Accord City (AET)

Bon Accord City came off the field with their heads held high after a hard fought replay against California. They went three goals down in the first half but fought back to take the lead then lost a goal with three minutes remaining to take the game into extra time.

Fixtures for 20th February

The nine remaining third round ties in the North of Scotland Amateur Cup take place this Saturday while Nicolls Amateurs host Potterton and United Services Glendale XI entertain Newtonhill in the Aberdeen FC Trophy. Grandholm take on Portlethen United and Scotstown Rovers face FC Polska at the quarter final stage of the Chattan Rovers Cup.

Results for 13th February

Insch defeated Burghmuir to reach the quarter-finals of the White Cup and Blackburn booked their place in the last four of the same competition with a 6-5 victory against Kintore. Hazlehead United continued their defence of the North of Scotland Amateur Cup with an extra-time win over Beacon Rangers while Feughside, Hilton and FC Polska all progressed to the last sixteen of the Dickie Trophy.

Bon Accord City 3 – 3 California

“California here we come” was the cry at the final whistle at Balgownie in the game between Bon Accord City and California Amateurs of Stirling. Bon Accord were two goals down at half time but fought back in the second half forcing a replay next week.

Fixtures for 13th February

Bon Accord City will replay against California in the Scottish Cup with Eddlewood waiting for the winners in the sixth round. Two local derbies are in prospect in the White Cup with Burghmuir hosting Insch in the first round and Kintore going to Blackburn for a quarter final tie. The Premier Division also has a derby on the card with AC Mill Inn meeting Cowie Thistle.

Results for 6th February

Bon-Accord City earned a replay following a 3-3 draw with California in the Scottish Amateur Cup. Woodside defeated AC Mill Inn 3-0 in the North of Scotland Cup, Westhill won 2-1 against Ellon Amateurs in the AFC Trophy and Kintore and Cowie Thistle progressed in the Association Trophy. RGU impressed at Blackburn with a 5-1 victory and Portlethen United’s win against McTeagle increased their Division Three lead.

Fixtures for 6th February

The weather once again wiped out the weekend’s fixture card. While many teams try for the same game again this coming weekend there are a few changes, particularly in the scheduled league games. Bon Accord City’s Scottish Cup tie against California tops the bill with a host of other cup ties in the North of Scotland, AFC, Association and Dickie trophies.

Scottish Amateur Cup – Sixth Round Draw

The draw for the sixth round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup was made at the Colville Park Country Club on Monday 25th January, with Bon-Accord City the last remaining AAFA club in the competition. The AAFA Premier Division leaders face California Amateurs of the Stirling & District Premier Division at Balgownie in the fifth round this Saturday and the winner of that tie has been drawn away to either Eddlewood of the Central Scottish AFL, who lifted the Scottish Amateur Cup in 2007/08, or St Mungo’s of the Caledonian AFL in round six.

John Todd Memorial Trophy

John was a highly successful player with Hilton and Sunnybank over many years and his family and friends presented a trophy to the Association to honour his memory after he sadly passed away last year. The John Todd Memorial Trophy will be contested annually by the teams finishing in the top four places in the Premier Division in the previous season.
