AC Mill Inn 2 – 1 Cove Thistle

AC Mill Inn completed the double over League Champions Cove Thistle in a hard fought game in terrible conditions. Martin Carmichael put the home side awahead early in the second half. Paul Gill equalised from the penalty spot before Carmichael added a second deep into added time.

Association Medal Awarded to Terry Massie

The Association Medal for 2009 has been awarded to Terry Massie, Secretary of Kincorth FC. The award was in recognition of the 25 years of outstanding service which he has given to the club. In addition Terry also served on the Executive Committee of the AAFA for many years and was the Association’s Vice-President between 2000 and 2007.

Bon Accord City will attempt to keep AAFA Scottish Cup interest alive when they welcome California Amateurs of the Stirling & District AFA to Balgownie. In the North of Scotland Cup AC Mill Inn will be expecting a tough game when they meet Division One (East) pace-setters Woodside. Mugiemoss Youth host Burghmuir in the Aberdeen FC Trophy third round.

Results for Saturday 23rd and Monday 25th January

RGU and Glendale shared six goals in their Division One (East) encounter which was played under the floodlights at Kaimhill on Monday evening. On Saturday, Old Aberdonians went out of the Scottish Amateur Cup after suffering a 3-1 defeat away to Blantyre United while Grammar Rovers were 3-0 winners at Ellon Amateurs in the North of Scotland Amateur Cup.

Fixtures for Saturday 23rd January

Old Aberdonians will try once again to play their Scottish Cup fifth round tie at Blantyre. Grammar FPs host FC Polska in the Dickie Trophy. Division Two (North) leaders Rattrays XI can expect a tough game when they visit third-placed Lads Club Amateurs.

RGU 3 – 3 Woodside

RGU and Woodside shared the spoils in this Division One (East) match after the students recovered from 3-0 down with just 20 minutes remaining. The goals included a strike from Woodside keeper MacDonald from his own penalty area. Davidson and Petrie were also on target for the visitors while RGU’s comeback goals came from Low, Twatt and Campbell.

Result for Saturday 16th January

RGU drew 3-3 with Woodside in Division One (East) in the only game to beat the weather this weekend. The result saw Woodside maintain their unbeaten league record and extend the gap at the top of the table to 10 points.

Fixtures for 16th January

Old Aberdonians travel to Lanarkshire to face Blantyre Utd in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup. In the second round of the North of Scotland Cup it’s Don Athletic v Luthermuir, Ellon Ams v Grammar Rovers and Westdyke v BSFC. MS Utd host Kintore in the only outstanding Association Trophy first round tie.

General Committee Meeting

The General Committee Meeting due to be held on the 7th January has been re-arranged for Thursday 21st January. The meeting will still be held at Pittodrie Stadium, starting at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.
