Scottish Cup Draw on 18th November

Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup – Fourth Round Draw The draw for the fourth round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup will be made in Dundee on Wednesday 18th November. Details of the fourth round draw will be posted here on the site as soon as they are available.

Charlie Summers, Glendale FC

It was with great sadness that the Association learned of the death of Charlie Summers who passed away on 13th November at the age of 82. Charlie was the founding father of Glendale FC in 1972 and was the mainstay of the club until only a few seasons ago when his health forced him to retire. He still managed to attend the odd game and was there at the end of May when the club secured its first ever League title.

Results for 14th November

Tarves were victorious in their Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup replay against Waterside and Echt drew 2-2 at Steins Thistle. Bon-Accord City, Ellon Thistle and Ferryhill all progressed in the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Amateur Cup while in league action Kintore and FC Geldie both picked up three points to maintain their promotion challenge in Division One (East).

Fixtures for 14th November

Scottish Amateur Cup action still leads the way this weekend with Glendale Youth and Luthermuir meeting in a second round replay. In the third round there’s still plenty of interest for AAFA clubs with Ellon Amateurs travelling to Glasgow Harp and Glendale going to Glynhill. Meanwhile Grammar Rovers host Wolfhill and Mearns United entertain Drumchapel United.

Results for 7th November

Sportsmans Club and Westdyke shared four goals in their Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup third round tie and Tarves will also be involved in a replay after they drew at home against Waterside of the Central Scottish AFL. Rattrays XI defeated Cove Thistle in the second round of the Aberdeen FC Trophy and Halliburton moved into the quarter-finals of the Barclay Cook Cup with victory against Mugiemoss Youth.

Newtonhill 3 – 2 Ellon Thistle

Newtonhill came out victors in this mid-table battle. The game was played at pace and on a very heavy surface. Grant Moir got the decisive goal with eight minutes remaining, the other goals for the winners coming from Ross Milson and Craig Barraza. For the visitors Mark Kennedy and Callum Duncan scored either side of half-time.

Fixtures for 7th November

Two outstanding Scottish Amateur Cup second round replays go ahead this Saturday. Twenty two AAFA clubs are in action in the third round with many on their travels. In local cup action Rattrays XI host Cove Thistle and McTeagle take on Bucksburn Utd in the Aberdeen FC Trophy while BSFC and ARI Thistle will meet at Hazlehead in the Dickie Trophy.

Results for 31st October

Grammar Rovers won 2-1 at Theologians in the Scottish Amateur Cup to set up a meeting with Perthshire side Wolfhill in round three. Tarves defeated Bucksburn United to remain top of Division One (North) and Beacon Rangers stayed within a point of the lead following their 3-1 victory against Stoneywood Amateurs. FC Polska and Feughside both won to close the gap on leaders Portlethen United in Division Three.

Fixtures for 28th and 31st October

Three Scottish Cup second round replays and two North of Scotland first round ties go ahead this Saturday. Ferryhill host Stonehaven Athletic in the Aberdeen FC Trophy and St Laurence take on FC Hayloft in the Castle Rovers Cup. Bon Accord City will be looking to maintain their Premier Division lead when they face University.
