Results for 24th October
Sportsmans Club and Bankhead both won away from home in their Scottish Amateur Cup replays. Bon-Accord City opened up a three point gap at the top of the Premier Division following their 1-0 win against Kincorth, Rattrays XI are out in front in Division Two (North) after victory against Rothie Rovers and Portlethen United defeated Scotstown Rovers to make it ten wins in a row in Division Three.
Fixtures for 24th October
Six Scottish Cup replays will take place this Saturday. In the first round of the North of Scotland Cup FC Hayloft play Don Athletic and Glendale take on MS United. University entertain Banchory in the Association Trophy and Halliburton host Mugiemoss Youth in the Barclay Cook Cup. Joint Premier leaders Echt and Westdyke go head-to-head while fellow pace-setters Bon Accord City will face Kincorth.
Newmachar Utd 5 – 3 Feughside
This was an eight goal thriller with both teams playing good attacking football. On today’s performance there did not seem to be a two league gap between them. Newmachar progressed to the next round, with Booth scoring a hat-trick after strikes from Lornie and Fraser. Feughside’s goals came from a Mackie brace and McKenzie.
Scottish Amateur Cup – Third Round Draw
The draw for the Third Round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup was made in East Kilbride on Wednesday 21st October. A total of 32 AAFA sides were in the draw – 20 are already through to the third round and a further 12 are involved in second round replays this weekend.
General Committee Meeting – 5th November
The next General Committee Meeting takes place on Thursday 5th November. The meeting will be held in the International Lounge in the Richard Donald Stand at Pittodrie Stadium and starts at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.
Results for 14th and 17th October
A single goal was enough for Scotstown Rovers to edge past Bervie Caley in the Scottish Amateur Cup and book their place in Wednesday evening’s national third round draw. Sportsmans Club and Great Western Utd shared six goals in the all-Premier tie at Hazlehead and the trip to the Isle of Skye ended in victory for Tarves as they won 5-3 at Skeabost.
RGU 7 – 3 Bervie Caley
RGU found the net seven times after being two goals down to a Bervie Caley team full of running and confidence in the first half. Bradley Bryant scored a hat-trick for the students who ran out comfortable winners after five second half goals.
Fixtures for 14th and 17th October
The Scottish Amateur Cup dominates the fixture list this weekend with places in the national third round draw up for grabs. Arguably the pick of the ties is the all-Premier clash between Sportsmans Club and Great Western Utd at Hazlehead. University Colts welcome Nicolls Ams to Balgownie in the Stephen Shield and there is also league action in all six divisions.
Results for 10th October
Torry United made it through to the quarter-finals of the Stephen Shield after winning on penalties at Stoneywood Amateurs and there were also divisional cup wins for Banchory, RGU, University Strollers and Mintlaw. The form side in the Premier Division are Westdyke who have now taken maximum points from their last six league games to move into a share of the lead with Bon-Accord City and Echt.
Lads Club Amateurs 5 – 2 Continental
Lads Club go through to the next round of the Dickie Trophy after coming back from two goals down in a game in which the gale force wind had a big say. Continental’s Watt put them two ahead but goals from Laws, Webster, Gillies and two own goals saw the home side through to the next round.
