Fixtures for 10th October

Bon Accord City host MS Utd in a Scottish Cup replay after their 3-3 draw two weeks ago. There are nine North of Scotland Cup first round ties to be played as well as three Aberdeen FC Trophy games. Banchory take on Dyce in the Premier Trophy, RGU welcome Bervie Caley to Kaimhill in the White Cup and Monymusk travel to Balgownie to play University Strollers in the Castle Rovers Cup.

Results for 3rd October

University Strollers picked up their first win of the season by defeating Theologians 1-0 in the AFC Trophy. Woodside maintained their 100% record in Division One (East) while Hilton extended their lead in Division Two (North) and Ellon Amateurs did likewise in Division Two (East). Portlethen United recorded their seventh straight league win to join Feughside and FC Polska at the top of Division Three.

Midlands AFA Select 3 – 2 Aberdeenshire AFA Select

Aberdeenshire AFA Select team, represented by Premier League Champions Cove Thistle, put up a great display against Midlands in the George Stephen Trophy at Dundee. Two goals down after twenty minutes Aberdeenshire fought back to level the score at half time. Deep into added time at the end of the match a mix up in Aberdeenshire’s defence let Midlands John Innes slip the ball past keeper Hopkins to make the final score 3-2.

Fixtures for 3rd October

Bon Accord City host West End in the season’s first North of Scotland Amateur Cup tie. In the Aberdeen FC Trophy Theologians head to Balgownie to take on University Strollers. It’s Ellon Thistle v Hazlehead Utd in the Association Trophy while Highland Hotel v Halliburton and Lads Club Ams v Continental in the Dickie Trophy round off the cup action.

George Stephen Trophy

The Aberdeenshire AFA and the Midlands AFA will contest the George Stephen Trophy on Tuesday 29th September. The AAFA will be represented by reigning Premier Division champions Cove Thistle, while the Midlands AFA will be represented by a league select. The match will be played at North End Park in Dundee with a 7.30 kick-off.

Kincorth 4 – 2 University

Kincorth were three up at half time but with a poor second half performance let University back into the game. Gove scored the first of his two goals from the penalty spot and an own goal and deflected Simpson shot completed the scoring for Kincorth. Uni’s goals came from Champion and a Lamont penalty.

Results for 26th Sept

Cowie Thistle, Glendale Youth and Theologians all won away from home to secure their places in the second round of the Scottish Amateur Cup. Ellon Thistle enjoyed an extra-time win against AC Mill Inn in the AFC Trophy. Tarves defeated Torry United 4-1 to move into a share of the lead in Division One (North) with Beacon Rangers who won 3-1 at Luthermuir.

Sportsmans Club win the Ian Napier Memorial Shield

Sportsmans Club picked up the first silverware of the season by defeating Old Aberdonians 5-2 in the final of the Ian Napier Memorial Shield at Denmore Park on Sunday. Their goals came from McKenzie, McNamara, Masson and two from Law. Both Old Aberdonians goals came from Cameron.

Fixtures for 26th September

The first round of the Scottish Cup continues this Saturday with the remaining six ties being played. AC Mill Inn host Ellon Ams in the Aberdeen FC Trophy while University Colts start their season with a trip to Echt in the Association Trophy. In the Dickie Trophy it’s Highland Hotel v Halliburton and Scotstown Rovers v Feughside.

Nicolls Ams 1 – 1 Torry Utd

In a game both teams were looking to win in order to creep up the league table both will have been disappointed with a point, although this was probably a fair result. Nicolls took the lead in eight minutes with a goal from Martin. This was cancelled out by Torry’s Nicol five minutes later.
