North of Scotland Amateur Cup – First Round Draw
The draw for the first round of the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Amateur Cup was made at the North of Scotland Executive Committee meeting at Allan Park, Cove on Monday 17th August. A total of 75 clubs have entered this season’s competition and there are therefore eleven first round ties.
Results for 17th August
Lads Club Amateurs defeated Rattrays XI 4-1 to make it five wins out of five and are in first place in Division Two (North). In Division Two (East) Ellon Amateurs have taken over the top spot after beating Mintlaw 3-2. FC Polska moved to the head of the Division Three table with a 4-1 win over Westhill as Feughside dropped their first points of the season, losing 1-0 at Grandholm.
Fixtures Information
The Match Secretary returns from holiday on Monday 17th August and the fixtures for Saturday 22nd August will be prepared early in the week. They will be posted on the site as soon as they are available. From Monday evening onwards, club secretaries are asked to phone results and man of the match details to the Match Secretary, Adrian Forrest, on 01224 894789 or 07793 165668.
Results for 15th August
Echt, Old Aberdonians, Tarves and Woodside all maintained their 100% records. Rattrays XI moved into joint top spot in Division Two (North) while Mintlaw took sole possession of first place in Division Two (East). In the Third Divison FC Polska defeated Huntly Amateurs 4-1 to join Feughside at the head of the table.
Fixtures for 15th to 19th August
The third week of fixtures starts with another full programme on Saturday 15th August. Last season’s Division One (North) top two, Sportsmans Club and AC Mill Inn, go head-to-head in Stonehaven in what could prove to be a tight game. On Monday 17th August, Division Three title holders Hilton will make the journey to Monymusk.
Grandholm 2 – 3 Auchnagatt Barons
This Division Three match-up was an end-to-end affair with Auchnagatt eventually edging out new boys Grandholm by the odd goal in five. Gary Main scored the winner with fifteen minutes remaining. The home side’s goals came from John Calder and Gareth Thomson while the Barons’ other strikes were from Steven Milne and Ben Drummond.
Results for 12th August
There were home wins in the Premier Division for Bon-Accord City, Old Aberdonians, Sportsmans Club and United Services Glendale XI while Dyce won 5-1 at Cowie Thistle and Echt defeated Kincorth by a single goal. Tarves and Beacon Rangers are both on maximum points in Division One (North) and Woodside kept up their free-scoring start to the season to remain out in front in Division One (East).
Results for 10th August
Lads Club Amateurs enjoyed their fourth win of the season with a 3-1 victory against Grammar Rovers and there were also wins in Division Two (North) for FC Hayloft, Hilton, Monymusk and Rothie Rovers. Ferryhill moved to the top of Division Two (East) by picking up three points against Potterton and Feughside continued their good start to the season in Division Three by defeating West End Electrical.
Fixtures for 8th to 12th August
Week two sees fellow newcomers Grandholm and Torphins meet in Division Three on Saturday. In another full programme of midweek fixtures Echt’s Wednesday trip to Inverdee to meet Kincorth looks the pick of the Premier Division encounters.
Woodside 4 – 0 Johnshaven Athletic
Nine points from three games puts Woodside on top of Division One (East) after they ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against Johnshaven Athletic on Saturday. Second half goals from John McBain, Steven Jack and Mark McGunnigle added to a first period own goal.
