Confirmation of Leagues for Season 2009/10
Four new clubs have joined the Association for the new season – Grandholm, Torphins, West End Electrical and Westhill. Stoneywood SSC have resigned from membership and so a play-off will be required between Dyce and FC Geldie for promotion to the Premier Division.
Association AGM
The Association’s Annual General Meeting took place in the International Lounge at Pittodrie Stadium on Thursday 2nd July. The makeup of the leagues for next season has been announced. Full details of the Player of the Year and Fair Play Awards will be posted on the site shortly.
Rattrays XI Old Crocks Match
Rattrays XI held their Annual Old Crocks match on 6th June at Sunnybank. The game was kicked off by Rattrays eighty two year old Willie Allan – Life Member of the Aberdeenshire AFA. Goals from Cross and Munro and a reply from Yates gave the old heads of the Old Crocks a 2-1 victory over the young legs of the present team.
Leagues for Season 2009/10
A total of 80 out of the 81 clubs who finished season 2008/09 have re-applied for membership of the Association in season 2009/10. The only club which has not re-applied for membership is Turriff Thistle. Four new clubs have applied for membership, Grandholm, Torphins, West End Electrical and Westhill. A vote will be taken on their applications for membership at the AGM on Thursday 2nd July 2009.
Cowie Thistle win the Association Trophy
Cowie Thistle lifted the Association Trophy on Friday after a 4-1 win over Glendale XI at Glenury Park, Stonehaven. Ross Adie, Neil Fowler and Wesley Leith scored first-half goals for Cowie. Martyn Leiper replied for Glendale XI with half an hour remaining but Craig Watson put the game beyond them on 75 minutes.

Results for 1st to 6th June
Luthermuir defeated University Colts 2-0 in the Divison Two promotion playoff and will move up to Division One next season. Earlier in the week University beat Echt and Burghmuir in the final Premier Division matches of the season.
Results for 29th and 30th May
On Friday Stoneywood SSC drew 2-2 with University who went on to play a second game in as many days on Saturday when they defeated Beacon Rangers 2-1. In the day’s other game Echt eased to a 5-0 win against Banchory.
Cove Thistle are Premier Champions
After four years in the Premier League Cove Thistle became Premier League Champions for the first time. In a hard fought game they came from two goals behind on two occasions to beat University who have played five times in the last ten days. Craig Wilson was the hat-trick hero, scoring the winner with just 5 minutes left to play.
