Cove Thistle are Premier Champions

After four years in the Premier League Cove Thistle became Premier League Champions for the first time. In a hard fought game they came from two goals behind on two occasions to beat University who have played five times in the last ten days. Craig Wilson was the hat-trick hero, scoring the winner with just 5 minutes left to play.

Bon Accord City win the Premier Trophy

A penalty shoot out gave Bon Accord City a deserved win over Banchory in the Premier Trophy final. Bon Accord came back from two goals down to put the game into extra time. They went on to the win the shoot-out 3-1 and lift the penultimate trophy of the season.

Fixtures for 3rd to 6th June

Cowie Thistle and Sportsmans Club will play their Association Trophy semi final at Echt on Monday 1st June. The winners will go on to take on Glendale XI in the final which will be played at Stonehaven on Friday evening. Both games kick-off at 7.00pm.

Results for 27th May

Bon Accord City won the Premier Trophy on penalties after a 2-2 draw with Banchory Ams. In the Association Trophy Cowie Thistle defeated Old Aberdonians 2-0 in the quarter finals and will now face Sportsmans Club in the semi final. Glendale XI beat Echt 3-2 to reach the final which will be played at Stonehaven next Friday.

Results for 25th May

Cove Thistle clinched the Premier Division crown with a tight 4-3 victory over University at Catto Park. The Division Two (North), Division Two (East) and Division Three programmes were all concluded with Newmachar United, Luthermuir, Glendale and Mearns United all winning their final games. In Division One (North) Dyce defeated Bervie Caley 3-2.

Fixtures for 29th and 30th May

Stoneywood SSC host University on Friday 29th. On Saturday 30th University play again when they are at home to Beacon Rangers. Also on Saturday Echt take on Banchory in a game which could still have bearing in the Premier Division title race depending on the results of this week’s midweek games.

Results for 23rd May

Glendale’s 2-0 home win against Rothie Rovers sees them win the Division Two (East) title, their first ever league crown. Nicolls defeated Banchory 3-0 but the three points weren’t enough to keep them in the Premier league for next season. FC Hayloft ensured their Division Two (North) safety with a 3-2 win at Huntly, who are now relegated along with Cammachmore who also lost. McTeagle are also down from Division Two (East) as they lost to University Strollers.

University win the Aberdeen FC Trophy

University won the Aberdeen FC Trophy on Friday evening with a 4-2 win over Cowie Thistle at Heathryfold. The Uni’ went 2-1 up in the first half and extended the lead with two goals after the interval. Cowie pulled a goal back to make it 4-2 but the Uni’ held out to lift the trophy for the first time since 1967.

Fixtures for 25th and 27th May

The final of the Premier Trophy will be played next Wednesday at Keith Park between Bon Accord City and the winners of the semi final between Banchory and Burghmuir. In the Association Trophy Cowie Thistle will host Old Aberdonians in the quarter final and Echt take on Glendale XI at Balgownie in a semi final tie. On Monday Cove Thistle go up against University in a Premier Division game which could well be vital in determining the destination of the title.

Results for 20th and 21st May

Banchory won through to the final of the Premier Trophy on Thursday, eventually defeating Burghmuir 6-3 after extra time. On Wednesday Old Aberdonians reached the quarter finals, and Glendale XI and Sportsmans Club the semi finals, of the Association Trophy. In Division One (East) FC Geldie and Hazlehead Utd both won while Theologians drew with Johnshaven Athletic.
