Kincorth are the AAFA Premier Division champions for season 2010/11 after a 4-3 victory against Sportsmans Club at Kincorth Academy on Monday evening gave them an unassailable five point lead at the top of the table with one game remaining.
Results for 28th May
Burghmuir gained promotion to Division One following a 3-1 win in their play-off match against University Strollers at The Meadows. University kept their title hopes alive with a single goal win at Balgownie but Kincorth’s victory against Bon-Accord City means that they can clinch the Premier Division title on Monday evening with a win against Sportsmans Club.
Membership Applications for Season 2011/12
Secretaries of all current member clubs are reminded that completed Applications Forms and fees for season 2011/12 must be returned to the Association Secretary by 31st May 2011.
Woodside win the AFC Trophy
Woodside lifted this season’s AFC Trophy thanks to a James Simpson hat-trick. Kincorth had come back from a goal down to take a half-time lead through goals from Brian McDonald and Jamie Buchan. The game went into extra-time and Woodside’s winning goal came with just six minutes left on the clock.
Results for 25th May
Woodside lifted the Aberdeen FC Trophy at Heathryfold following an extra-time win against Kincorth while Cove Thistle clinched the Division One (East) championship with victory at Glendale XI. Kamihill United secured promotion to the First Division after defeating University Strollers who will now face Burghmuir in a play-off match at The Meadows on Saturday.
Results for 23rd May
Johnshaven Athletic secured promotion following a 1-0 win at Strathburn Park while their opponents Burghmuir ended the campaign in fourth place and still have the chance to claim the additional promotion place which has resulted from FC Geldie’s resignation from the Association earlier in the season. They will face either Kaimhill United or University Strollers in a promotion play-off match on Saturday.
Sportsmans Club 2 – 2 Kincorth
Sportsmans fought back from two goals down to win a vital point against League leaders Kincorth. The visitors goals came from Marek Madle and Tony Livingstone with Lee McKenzie and Gary McNamara getting the replies for Sportsmans.
Fixtures for 1st June
The fixtures for Saturday 28th May include a play-off match between the two fourth placed finishers in Division Two to decide who will fill the extra promotion place which resulted from FC Geldie’s resignation from the Association earlier in the season. The team that loses out in Wednesday evening’s play-off for third place in Division Two (North) between University Strollers and Kaimhill United will take on the fourth placed finisher in Division Two (East) which, depending on Monday evening’s result at Strathburn Park, will be Feughside, Burghmuir or Johnshaven Athletic.
Results for 21st May
Sportsmans Club held leaders Kincorth to a 2-2 draw in the Premier Division. Nicolls Amateurs secured their Division One status for next season with a 1-0 win at Bervie Caley. Cove Thistle cruised to a 10-0 win at home to Ellon Amateurs and are just a point behind Blackburn in the race for the Division One (East) title.
Sportsmans Club Fund Raising
Sportsmans Club are looking to run a new sweeper for the forthcoming season and are inviting clubs who are looking to get involved to make it more appealing. Alternatively, if any clubs would like to invite us to join their existing sweeper then that would also be an option.
