Results for 22nd January
Banchory’s run in the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup came to an end following their 4-0 defeat at St. James. MS United defeated Alford to make it through to the last 16 of the Aberdeen FC Trophy, Glentanar Reflex and Portlethen United secured quarter-final places in the Dickie Trophy and Johnshaven Athletic extended their advantage at the top of Division Two (East).

Fixtures for 22nd January
Westdyke travel to Glasgow University and Banchory are at St James in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. In local cups MS United host Alford in the AFC Trophy, Ellon Amateurs meet Cove Thistle in the White Cup and Westhill take on Rothie Rovers in the Barclay Cook Cup. In the Dickie Trophy third round it’s Glentanar Reflex v Bankhead and Kaimhill Utd v Portlethen Utd.
Scottish Amateur Cup – Fifth Round Draw
The draw for the fifth round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup has been made. Mearns United, Banchory and Westdyke are the three remaining AAFA sides in this season’s competition.
Westdyke 4 – 2 Port Glasgow Hibs
Westdyke reached the next round of the Scottish Cup after losing two late goals in the first encounter with Port Glasgow and waiting four weeks for the replay. A Brad Milne brace and goals from Ian MacKenzie and Paul Bain were enough to see them through to the Fourth Round where they will meet Glasgow University.
Results for 15th January
Westdyke moved into the fourth round of the Scottish Amateur Cup but Kintore, Bervie Caley, Halliburton and Westhill were all knocked out. Continental, Hazlehead United and Woodside enjoyed away wins in the only North of Scotland Cup ties to beat the weather and Cove Thistle opened up a twelve point gap at the top of Division One (East) after victory against RGU.
Fixtures for 15th January
There are some changes to the fixture list after a handful of games went ahead this past weekend. MS Utd play Insch in the Association Trophy second round while most other cup matches remain the same. In league games there are changes to the Division One (North), One (East), Two (East) and Three cards.
Association Medal Awarded to George Matthew
The Association Medal for 2010 has been awarded to George Matthew of Alford. The Medal was presented to George in recognition of the outstanding service which he has given to Alford and to amateur football over the past 28 years.
Cove Thistle 6 – 3 Cammachmore
Cove Thistle had burst pipes and a flooded dressing room overnight but managed to get repairs done before kick off. Referee Hudson inspected the ground and gave the thumbs up for the game to go on. Cove were too strong for third division Cammachmore and had them pinned back in their own half for most of the game.
Results for 8th January
The first fixture list of 2011 was badly hit by the weather with only two games beating the freezing conditions. Cove Thistle made it through to the third round of the Soccer World North of Scotland Cup with a 6-3 win against Cammachmore at Catto Park and Mintlaw joined them in the last 32 following their 3-2 victory at Ellon Thistle.
