Results for 26th April
Echt defeated Cove Thistle to go level with Bon-Accord City at the top of the Premier while University stayed in the hunt with a 3-0 home win. Beacon Rangers and Tarves kept their Division One (North) title ambitions on track with wins while Hazlehead only drew against bottom-placed Theologians.
Results for 24th and 25th April
Kincorth defeated Hazlehead United 4-1 after extra time on Sunday to reach the final of the North of Scotland Amateur Cup where they will meet Sportsmans Club at Allan Park on Sunday 9th May. On Saturday, Insch defeated Echt 3-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Aberdeen FC Trophy while Rattrays XI and Hilton booked their places in the last four of the Dickie Trophy.
Fixtures for 28th April
Next Wednesday’s highlight is the White Cup final between Woodside and Blackburn, kicking off at 7.15pm at Hillhead. All league games have a 6.45pm start with most Premier teams in action. Hazlehead Utd v Tarves looks like being an important game in Division One (North). In Division Two (East) Mintlaw and Bankhead play each other with both looking for vital points in the lower half of the table.
Hilton are Castle Rovers Cup Winners
Hilton picked up the Castle Rovers Cup beating Rothie Rovers in a six goal thriller. Two goals apiece for Andrew Campbell and David Scott were added to by Ian Hay while Niki Sinclair scored Rothie’s goal.
Fixtures for 26th April
There are fixtures scheduled for all six leagues next Monday evening, all kick-offs at 6.45pm. The pick of the bunch looks like being Mearns United’s visit to Ellon Amateurs which could go a long way to deciding the detination of the Division Two (East) title.
Rothie Rovers 1 – 3 Sportsmans Club
An early goal from Gary McNamara gave Sportsmans the lead but this was cancelled out by an Alan Findlater overhead kick midway through the first half. After the break goals from Paul Masson and a second for Gary McNamara secured a place in the final for Sportsmans Club.
Results for 21st April
The top three in the Premier Division all lost with Westdyke moving into third after beating University 1-0. In Division One (North) Tarves lost at home to Stoneywood Ams allowing Beacon Rangers to extend their lead. Woodside maintained their unbeaten league record with a 5-3 win against Bervie Caley, securing promotion to the Premier in the process.
Mearns Utd win the Barclay Cook Cup
Mearns Utd picked up their first trophy since joining the Aberdeenshire AFA two years ago by beating Bankhead 5-0 in an exciting game. The goals came from Andrew Beal, Ryan Crabb, Ryan Stuart, Gavin Lawson and Stuart Scott.
Great Western Utd 0 – 2 Old Aberdonians
Both teams fielded strong sides in this Premier League quarter final played on a bumpy surface making it difficult to control the ball. Second half goals from Cameron and Wyness proved enough to take the visitors through to the semi finals.
Fixtures for 24th and 25th April
Insch host Echt in the AFC Trophy fourth round, Mearns Utd take on Rattrays XI and Mugiemoss Youth go up against Hilton in Dickie Trophy quarter finals and both Premier Trophy semi finals will take place. On Sunday Kincorth meet holders Hazlehead United at Heathryfold in the second North of Scotland Cup semi-final with Sportsmans Club waiting for the winner.
