Results for 19th April
Echt drew to take them level at the top of the Premier Division and University’s 4-3 win sees them move into third place. Rattrays XI, Hilton and Lads Club Ams all won to keep up their Division Two (North) title challenges. Division Two (East) leaders Ellon Ams slipped up allowing Mearns Utd to close the gap. In Division Three Scotstown Rovers took all three points while FC Polska lost.
Fixtures for 21st April
Rothie Rovers meet Hilton at Hillhead in the final of the Castle Rovers Cup, kick-off is at 7.15pm. Most Premier and Division One teams have league games, all of which kick-off at 6.45pm.
Results for 17th and 18th April
Echt and Ellon Thistle progressed in the AFC Trophy. In the Association Trophy Dyce defeated Cowie Thistle and in the Dickie Trophy Ferryhill overcame Mintlaw. Banchory and Old Aberdonians moved into the Premier Trophy semi-finals, Torry Utd made it through to the final of the Stephen Shield and Woodside will meet Blackburn in the White Cup final.
Results for 14th April
Mearns United picked up the Barclay Cook Cup with an emphatic 5-0 win against Bankhead. Echt were 4-1 winners at Great Western Utd and are now just behind Bon Accord City who were beaten 3-1 by University. Beacon Rangers and Tarves both won in Division One (North) and Woodside remain unbeaten in Division One (East). In Division Two (North) Hilton defeated Lads Club Ams to move into 2nd place.
Fixtures for 19th April
The midweek league action continues next week with a number of games in the Premier, Two (North), Two (East) and Third divisions. Echt meet Kincorth in the Premier while Hilton host University Strollers in Division Two (North). Division Two (East) leaders Ellon Amateurs travel to Rubislaw to play Grammar FP’s and in the Division Three Grandholm take on Scotstown Rovers.
Results for 12th April
Echt closed the gap on Premier leaders Bon Accord with a 1-0 home win against Cowie Thistle while Kincorth and Sportsmans Club also picked up 3 points. Lads Club Ams and Hilton both won to keep the pressure on in Division Two (North). Ellon Ams were comfortable 6-0 winners to keep their Division Two (East) title chase on track. FC Polska defeated leaders Portlethen Utd 2-1 in Division Three.
Fixtures for 17th and 18th April
On Saturday Kintore meet Echt and Kemnay Youth take on Ellon Thistle in the AFC Trophy. Both White Cup semi finals take place with Newmachar Utd hosting Woodside and Blackburn going to RGU. On Sunday Rothie Rovers and Sportsmans Club meet at Heathryfold in the first North of Scotland Cup semi-final.
Fixtures for 12th and 14th April
There is another busy programme of midweek action next week with the highlight being the Barclay Cook Cup final at Hillhead on Wednesday evening, with Mearns United facing the winner of this Saturday’s semi-final between Mintlaw and Bankhead (7.15 ko). All league fixtures on Monday and Wednesday kick-off at 6.30.
Bon Accord City 4 – 2 University (AET)
Although Uni’ had Bon Accord under pressure for most of the game after going a goal down they fought back to level the score then went a goal in front however a goal from Bon Accord in added time put the tie into extra time. Extra time goals from William Small and Mark Bartlett saw Bon Accord through to the last eight.
Portlethen Utd lift the Chattan Rovers Cup
Portlethen United picked up their first silverware since 1995 when they beat FC Polska in the Chattan Rovers Cup Final. Portlethen went ahead in the first half with the only goal of the match from Kieran Conner. Portlethen’s defence stood firm frustrating Polska’s strike force who were cheered on by a large support.
