Fixtures for 9th January
Old Aberdonians travel to Lanarkshire to face Blantyre Utd in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup. In the second round of the North of Scotland Cup it’s Don Athletic v Luthermuir, Ellon Ams v Grammar Rovers and Westdyke v BSFC. MS Utd host Kintore in the only outstanding Association Trophy first round tie.
General Committee Meeting – 7th January 2010
The next General Committee Meeting will take place on Thursday 7th January 2010. The meeting will be held in the International Lounge in the Richard Donald Stand at Pittodrie Stadium and starts at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.
Result for 19th December
As wintry weather wiped out all local games on the 19th December Echt lost 2-1 at Dalmuir United leaving just two AAFA teams in the Scottish Amateur Cup. Echt v FC Geldie in the Association Cup at Kaimhill on 29th December also fell victim to the weather.
North of Scotland Amateur Cup – Third Round Draw
The draw for the third round of the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Amateur Cup was made at the North of Scotland Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday 15th December.
Scottish Amateur Cup – Fifth Round Draw
The draw for the fifth round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup was made in Livingston on Tuesday 15th December.
Fixtures for 19th December
Echt travel to Dalmuir Utd looking to become the AAFA’s third representative in the Scottish Cup fifth round. In the North of Scotland Cup Don Athletic host Luthermuir and Westdyke entertain BSFC. There are Aberdeen FC Trophy ties at Glendale, Nicolls Amateurs, Postal ALC, Potterton, St Laurence and Scotstown Rovers.
MS United 2 – 2 Bon-Accord City
Bon-Accord City had keeper Hill to thank for going through to the last 32 of the Aberdeen FC Trophy. Hill made some excellent saves during this second round tie against MS United at New Advocates Park and was the hero when the penalty kicks were taken – saving three.
Results for 12th December
Luthermuir and Tarves both went out of the Scottish Amateur Cup while Echt’s fourth round tie at Dalmuir United was postponed. Lads Club Amateurs defeated St Laurence after extra time in the North of Scotland Amateur Cup and Woodside’s 100% record in Division One (East) finally came to an end when they were held at Johnshaven Athletic.
Johnshaven Athletic 0 – 4 Banchory
Johnshaven Athletic played host to Premier side Banchory in the Aberdeen FC Trophy on a cold wet day at Wairds Park. The visitors came out on top thanks to an excellent hat-trick from Craig Chalmers and a strike from Josh Gilbert. Banchory will now host Glendale or Portlethen United in the next round.
Fixtures for 12th December
In the Scottish Amateur Cup Luthermuir make the trip to Fife to face Kingdom Caledonian league leaders Leven United, Echt take on Dalmuir United who are currently in second place in the West of Scotland AFL Premier Division and Tarves visit Busby Amateurs of the Scottish AFL. Closer to home there are a number of North of Scotland Cup and AFC Trophy matches.
