Fixtures for 20th and 22nd April
The White Cup Final is on Wednesday 22nd April when Old Aberdonians will take on Theologians at Keith Park. There are a host of league games across the divisions on both Monday and Wednesday evenings next week. League kick-offs will be 6.45pm on both Monday and Wednesday.
Kincorth 1 – 3 Echt (AET)
This North of Scotland Amateur Cup quarter-final was not the most exciting of games, a game that was continually stopped by petty, unnecessary fouls. In the end it was the visitors who progressed, winning 3-1 after extra time. Echt’s goals came from Ramsay, Daun and Troup while Mair scored for Kincorth. Echt go on to meet Hazlehead United in the semi-final at Heathryfold on Sunday 3rd May.
General Committee Meeting – 30th April
The next General Committee Meeting will take place at the International Lounge at Pittodrie Stadium on Thursday 30th April, starting at 7.30 pm. All clubs are asked to attend. The Association Secretary will provide details at the meeting of the new Player Registration Forms which will be used from season 2009/10.
Results for 18th April
Cowie Thistle defeated Dyce to reach the final of the Aberdeen FC Trophy after a penalty shoot-out. Hilton beat Mintlaw 3-1 in the Dickie Trophy and will now meet Glendale in the final. Burghmuir had a 3-2 win against Nicolls Amateurs in the Premier Trophy. In the Premier Division league leaders Cove Thistle suffered a setback when they lost 3-1 to Bon Accord City.
Sportsmans win Stephen Shield
AC Mill Inn and Sportsmans are fighting for top spot in Division One (North) and for tonight’s final were able to field strong teams. The first half belonged to AC Mill Inn who made several chances with good flowing football but Sportsmans’ defence stood firm. Second half goals from Ord, Norris and McKenzie saw Sportsmans through to win this season’s Stephen Shield.
Results for 15th April
Cove Thistle, Kincorth, Bon Accord City, Echt, University and Westdyke all picked up 3 points in the Premier league. Dyce moved to the top of Division One (North) after a 5-1 win against Grammar Rovers. Old Aberdonians and Glendale XI both won to maintain their challenge for promotion from Division One (East).
Fixtures for 18th April
Kincorth host Echt in the outstanding North of Scotland Amateur Cup quarter final. Cowie Thistle take on Dyce for a place in the Aberdeen FC Trophy final while it’s Hilton v Mintlaw at the same stage of the Dickie Trophy. There are also two quarter-final ties in the Premier Trophy – Banchory v Great Western United and Nicolls Amateurs v Burghmuir.
North of Scotland Semi Final Draw
The draw for the semi-finals of the Saltire Fashions North of Scotland Amateur Cup was made on Tuesday 14th April. Dyce will play University at Heathryfold on Sunday 26th April and Hazlehead United will be up against Kincorth or Echt on Sunday 3rd May, also at Heathryfold.
Results for 13th April
The top two in Division Two (North) both won, Bucksburn 3-0 and Newmachar 2-0. Insch stayed at the head of the Division Two (East) race after beating Rothie Rovers 4-3. In Division Three Highland Hotel slipped up against Trophies allowing Ellon Amateurs to take the outright lead with a 5-1 win against Fintray Thistle. Hilton also won 5-1 at Don Athletic to keep up the pressure on the top two.
Fixtures for 13th and 15th April
Midweek football starts in earnest next week with plenty of fixtures on both Monday and Wednesday evenings. Wednesday 15th sees the final of the Stephen Shield with AC Mill Inn v Sportsmans Club likely to be a competitive encounter.
